History

About 250 years ago, Our great great grand father, who was one of the members of famous chazhoor family settled at Kottekkad and Kolazhy, arrived in Kodannur village of Thrissur district, with his family. Similarly some other great grand fathers settled near Pudukkad and Kuriachira. Since they are migrated from Kolazhy, their predecessors were called as chazhoor Kolazhikkaran.

One of them , Sri C. P. Kunhiporinchu,the farsighted great grand father, played a vital role in the overall development of Kodannur village. These include the foundation of Kodannur R. C. church, School etc. He was the first manager of the Kodannur School.He had sacrificed a lot for the development of the community .

His second son Sri. C. K. Ouseph also had served as the school manager. His third son Sri. C. K. Devassy master was first school teacher from Kodannur. During the period of  1960 - 1993 there were six teachers , two were Headmasters , from our family .

The annual Pesha  Feast of Kodannur church is conducted by our family members for more than one hundred years .

Sri. C. P. Porinchu, S/o. Sri. C. K. Poulose was the founder of Kodannur chapel and market.  Now very Rev.Fr. Joseph Chazhoor , Vicar of Mattom Forane church is leading our spiritual activities. Members are very active in spiritual organizations sunday catechism, church choir etc.
